SAVING SIGHT AND SOUND is a non-profit organization 501(c)(3) developed by SPENCER SHAPIRO and GRANT SHAPIRO in 2011 to help expand greatly needed funds and education locally and globally.  Blindness is the number one disability worldwide that can be reduced by your help!

SAVING SIGHT AND SOUND uses charity funding, volunteer efforts by medical and non-medical personnel, and free clinics with access to charity surgery by board certified ophthalmologists, otolaryngologists and surgeons.

SAVING SIGHT AND SOUND offers free lecture series to schools and community forums about ways to prevent eye diseases, lazy eye, glaucoma, cataract and macular degeneration.  The lectures are presented by volunteer students with in depth knowledge in these subject areas as well as by board certified physicians.

SAVING SIGHT AND SOUND also provides glaucoma screening clinics which are mobile to various convalescent hospitals to aide the elderly in basic preventable eye care. We also provide audiology screening and referrals for hearing aides.

SAVING SIGHT AND SOUND educates the community and schools in preventable amblyopia and lazy eye that causes blindness.  Blindness is preventable before the age of 7.

Lastly, SAVING SIGHT AND SOUND obtains volunteers or helps with charities involved worldwide and assists in medical missions.  This teaches other doctors in third world countries about the newest techniques or treatments in eye diseases.  Volunteers help with the care of these patients and volunteer doctors provide the surgical care.  New sight is given to these poor communities for the first time.  We also develop their first medical records for continuity of care.
